Read-a-thon: The roundup

This was my first readathon and it was so much fun. Regardless of the issues that stopped me from participating in the degree that I would have wanted, being ill and having friends over, I enjoyed it! I had fun planning out my reading list to ensure I would have a lot of choice to suit my mood, picking out (mostly unhealthy) snacks, interacting with other readers and cheerleaders on twitter and on here and of course reading.

I read for 12 hours and read 395 pages. I tweeted 36 times, updated this blog 4 times and took part in 2 mini-challenges. I finished one book: Much Obliged, Jeeves by P.G. Wodehouse which I loved and will try to review soon. I read two thirds of Notes From a Small Island by Bill Bryson which is hilarious. When I was getting tired I picked up the children’s book Penguin Small by Mick Inkpen which is lovely and has fold-out pages with beautiful illustrations.

I’m definitely going to try and take part in the next readathon, it’s a blast! Thank you to all the cheerleaders, you guys are truly amazing!

Congrats on your first Read-a-Thon, this is my third and I am still slowly making my way up to the full 24 hours. The first year I was like you and only read for about 12 hours. Next time aim for a few more hours, do like I did this year add and audio book (That seemed to really work for me).
